Ahrweiler

Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler, embedded in unique natural landscape and surrounded by vineyards of Ahrtal,  is a city with two centers whose ambience is totally different from each other but they make up for a delightful and harmonic symbiosis of the new and the old. Bad Neuenahr welcomes visitors with modern resort and fitness facilities, art nouveau houses, an elegant casino - and the Ahr-Thermal Springs. The therapeutic Bad Neuenahr became well known because of its springs – first and foremost its world famous Apollinaris-Spring.

Ahrweiler, however, captivates with its historical appeal. Its romantic half-timbered houses are surrounded by the intact mediaeval city wall, gates and towers from the 13th century. Once upon a time, the Celts, the Teutons, the Romans, the French, the Counts, and the Archbishops resided here. The regular guided city tours make visitors familiar not only with interesting historical facts but also with all kinds of amusing anecdotes that may make you smile and marvel, too.

In the midst of the vineyards in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler many festivals and events take place. Do also visit the museums in the city and enjoy the hospitality of the excellent hotels und restaurants as well as people living here.

The red wine metropolis Ahrweiler has its special charm. Many buildings here have been preserved in the original form and emanate the flair of the Medieval Ages.
